Olympic Torch Relay Passing Through Egypt

The Athens 2004 Torch Relay, the first truly global Olympic Torch Relay, will travel around the world in 65 days. The Olympic flame begun its journey from Olympia and, having travelled across the globe, will return to the Athens Olympic Stadium on August 13th, where it will signal the beginning of the great celebration of the 2004 Olympic Games.

Outside Greece the Flame will travel for 35 days, covering a distance of approximately 78,000 km, 1,500 of which in the hands of 3,600 Torchbearers. A total of 260 million people will have the opportunity to see the Flame in their city. For the first time in history the Olympic Torch Relay will bring the Flame to Africa and Latin America. The Flame will also reach all past Olympic cities.

?ore than 11,000 people will participate in the Athens 2004 International Olympic Torch Relay.  The Torch will be carried by athletes, public figures, and thousands of individuals, who were selected for their own ability to inspire and overcome challenges within their own local communities.

Hard Rock Cafe to Open in Hurghada

Although the date of opening and exact location are top secret, we have been reliably informed that a Hard Rock Cafe is to open in Hurghada in approximately 2 months time!  Watch this space for more information.

Road to be Pedestrianised

Rumours have been circulating for some time now that the road in Hurghada from the Esplanada Mall to the roundabout near the EAB & Banque de Cairo is to be pedestrianised in the very near future, allowing only residents car access, with all other traffic being re-routed.  Further reliable information about this change has been difficult to obtain, therefore, if anyone can contact us with more information, it would be very much appreciated.  Again, watch this space for more information!


Hilton to Open 10 New Properties in the Middle East


Hilton International forges ahead with a major expansion programme, that will see the opening of 10 new properties in the Middle East including a new hotel in the UAE, with another 50 hotels planned around the world. 
Egypt alone will see five new openings – Hurghada Long Beach, Sharm Nabq, Ain El Sokhna, Marsa Alam Coral Beach Resort and Heliopolis.
